Clearly Win10 gets the information from somewhere, and it needs changing. The Win10 mail app is an issue between Microsoft and BT, and in my opinion BT support/moderators should be proactive to get this fixed. The best place to get the correct answers, and best help is peer support through these forums. What is clear, is that the helpdesk, BTCare twitter folk and these forums all seem to be completely separate. Who did you contact in BT who can't work it out? It would be interesting to find out.

OUTLOOK ACCOUNT SETTINGS OUT OF DATE HOW TO
instead of utilising the server title to client/hosts, BT are wrongly advising that my mail server is “” … and no one at BT can work out how to fix it, so Im OFF. Like you I have established that my problem stems from the server, or server I.D. MS Outlook will not send or receive until I change i.e. SO Im here to tell you I can stand no more wasted hours. (which I have done about 15 times in the past 3 months) and then laboriously walk me through the usual check list demonstrating NO technical knowhow on the subject. I have now spent in excess of 12 hours on various BT chatlines trying to sort this… I have spoken to what can best be described as idiots-on-script, who all start their patter with CHANGE THE PASSWORD.
